- Police check SA Health require that all employees, volunteers and students on placements who will be in contact with children, young people, vulnerable adults and recipients of Aged Care Services to comply with State and National legislation requiring them to have a valid criminal history screening check. The screening process is managed by the Department of Human Services (DHS) Screening Unit . Essential requirements This degree requires students to undertake and fulfil compulsory professional placement requirements to successfully complete the degree. Rural and remote subquota An annual subquota is available for applicants from rural and remote areas. To be considered for the rural and remote subquota you must apply to SATAC in the normal way. You must also, within 10 working days after submitting your application, submit a Statutory Declaration which confirms that you have lived in non-metropolitan areas of Australia (Remoteness Classifications RA2 to RA5) for at least five consecutive years, or 10 years cumulatively, from birth (i.e. during any period of your life). This is assessed based on your primary residential address. Upload your completed form to your SATAC application. You can check your eligibility in accordance with the definition above using the Australian Government's Health Workforce Locator . Enter the address you wish to search for using the 'ASGS Remoteness Area' '2021'. Northern Territory subquota An annual subquota is available for applicants from the Northern Territory (NT). To be considered for the NT subquota you must apply to SATAC in the normal way. You must also, within 10 working days after submitting your SATAC application, submit a Statutory Declaration to SATAC confirming that you meet the criteria for the NT subquota. You must meet one or more of the following criteria to be eligible for consideration for a subquota place - Either have your principal place of residence in the NT
- OR must have been a resident in the NT for a minimum period of two years, within the last five years
- OR must be a recent graduate (within the last five years) or a current student of Charles Darwin University. Applicants who gain entry in this degree through the sub quota will be required to reside in the Northern Territory for their final year clinical placements. They will be registered with the Flinders NT University Department of Rural Health (UDRH) as a student eligible for support aligned with priority rural background student funding. Further information will be available on enrolment. Successful applicants who meet the entry requirements for both the NT subquota places and the non-subquota places will be offered the option of undertaking clinical placements in the NT. | Recent secondary Qualify for the South Australian Certificate of Education (SACE) or equivalent recent year 12 qualification (including the International Baccalaureate Diploma), and achieve a competitive selection rank. Activating Identities and Futures (AIF) Pathway: If you have strong results in the SACE Activating Identities and Futures subject you will be considered for entry into this course on your Year 12 results combined with your Activating Identities and Futures performance. If the combined score does not result in an enhanced selection rank, you will compete in the normal way. UniTEST: If you are completing an Australian Year 12 qualification this year, uniTEST is available to enhance your chances of getting into this course. We will select students based on Year 12 results combined with uniTEST performance. If you take the test and dont do so well, dont worry, we will only consider your ATAR Selection Rank. If you have studied at higher education level for a total of more than two years, you are not eligible to use your year 12 results. Higher Ed Completed or partially completed a recognised higher education program at a recognised higher education institution, or Completed a University Foundation Studies, Bridging or Enabling program If you have studied at higher education level in the last two years, you must not have accumulated more than a total of two full-time years of higher education study in order to use your bridging program results. Work-Life Other Completed a non-recent SACE or equivalent secondary education qualification with a competitive selection rank, including the International Baccalaureate Diploma (IB), or STAT multiple choice test. If you have studied at higher education level in the last two years, you must not have accumulated more than a total of two full-time years of higher education study in order to use your STAT results. VET Completed an award from a registered training organisation at Certificate III level or above. TAFElink is a guaranteed entry pathway if youve completed a TAFE/VET Certificate IV or higher level qualification (provided you meet the course prerequisite requirements).
